Opening Times

A dedicated team of Patient Support Receptionists will help to arrange appointments, advise on waiting times at the surgery and assist you in accessing healthcare services. They will do their best to help provide you with an appointment as soon as possible.

Appointments & Reception

Appointments can be made, prescriptions collected and the reception team accessed in person from 8.00am - 7.00pm or by telephone from 8.00am - 6.30pm.

For non-urgent appointments, please telephone after 10.00am.

NEW CLINICAL SYSTEM - JUNE 2013

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The practice is changing it’s clinical computer system. This is a major piece of work for the practice team and we ask for your help, support and patience over the coming weeks.

Prescriptions:
Our online prescription request service will be suspended during the week commencing 24th June. SystmOne will have a similar service
available. View further details about the Online Services Facility.

If your prescription is due during the week commencing 24th June, please order early. Where possible, we will provide you with an additional one months to ensure you have adequate supply during this period.

The week of 24th June is our really difficult and challenging week:
During this week, we are only able to offer you a limited service which will have an impact on the number of appointments available.

The first few weeks:
There is no doubt we are going to be slower to start with. We ask that you, please be patient with us and support us during this transition period.

The advantages for the future:

• The new system will provide greatly enhanced functionality for the clinical team, the easier it is for the clinicians to update
  the medical records, the more time they have for patients.
• From 1st of July we will have the ability to send text message appointment reminders to mobile phone numbers.
• In the near future, we will be implementing the facility of booking online which will allow you to book / cancel appointments, 24 hours a day, seven days a week without the need to telephone the surgery. Further information to follow.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone consultations with a doctor are available on request if appropriate. If you are not sure, please check with reception. You may be offered a telephone consultation if all appointments have been taken on a particular day so that the urgency can be assessed. 

Visits to your Home

Routine requests should be made before 10.30am by telephoning 01234 319991.

Requests for visits are assessed by the visiting doctor of the day.

Please accept that this is a service for the truly housebound only and all other patients are expected to come to the surgery for assessment. A doctor can usually see up to five patients in the surgery in the time taken to do one home visit.

We are also unable to access your full medical record when out of the building.

Out of Hours

Out of Hours emergency services are provided by BEDOC. This service is staffed by local Bedford based GPs and is available from 6.30pm through to 8.00am, 7 days a week.
